Annotate PRO for Chrome should update automatically. However, policies set by your institution may disable automatic updates. This article covers how to check your Annotate PRO version and how to force an update. 

Check Annotate PRO Version

1. Open the Extensions page in Chrome by navigating to chrome://extensions/ or clicking the three vertical dots at the top right of the browser and selecting Extensions.

2. Click on the Details button to see information about the extension.

3. Check the Version number. In this example, the extension is on version 7.14, released in October 2024. To check the current version of Annotate PRO visit this page. 

Manually Update Annotate PRO

If your Annotate PRO version is a lower number than on the page above, you can manually update the extension by:

1. toggling on Developer mode using the toggle at the top right of the page
2. clicking the Update button in the top bar of the page

After AP finishes updating you can toggle Developer mode back off.
