Free, Paid and Institutional Licenses

Annotate PRO (AP) has a strong ‘freemium’ model. Individual educators can use the basic version of AP, for free, forever.

So if you’re enjoying a trial of AP and have access to advanced features you can check out the free vs. paid differences using the tables below.

We hope you’ll see value in paying for AP, which helps us keep the lights on and invest in continuous improvements, but we’re honored if we help you on your mission regardless.

Advanced features and content include:

Note: The basic version of AP is free for educators at non-profit institutions. Tutors, editors, instructors and other roles at for-profit institutions should purchase an AP license. We reserve the right to require users document their non-profit status (through providing ownership of an email address provided by a non-profit).

Individuals can choose to pay for advanced features (“AP+“) and content. See individual pricing for details.

Institutions/organizations can choose to license AP broadly, enabling Comment Library sharing and administrative features. See institutional pricing for more.
