That’s why we’ve reimagined Motivation Station Edition (MSE). It’s no longer just a collection of quotes; it’s a comprehensive student engagement toolkit designed to spark metacognition and ownership.
What’s New in the Expansion:
- From Praise to Progress: Our new Effort and Growth group (7+ prompts) moves beyond “Nice work” to ask, “What did you do differently this time?”
- Building Agency: 12 new prompts for Ownership ask students to step into the teacher’s shoes: “If the grade disappeared, what would you still want to get out of this work?”
- Real-World Relevance: 11 prompts designed to bridge the gap between the assignment and the “real world.”
- Enhanced Inspiration: We haven’t ditched the classics. We’ve expanded our literary quotes to 50, featuring voices like Maya Angelou, Toni Morrison, and Stephen King.

How to Add Motivation Station Edition (Still 100% Free):
- Click the Gear icon then AP Store in the AP Chrome Extension / Word app OR visit the Annotate PRO web app directly (Edit & Share / Manage Libraries).
- Scroll to Libraries you can license from 11trees.
- Find “Motivation Station Edition” and click “License Me!”
Note: if you are an individual subscriber and don’t see MSE it’s because the Library is already in your account and you just need to make it Active. Scroll up on the Manage Libraries page and you’ll see it . If your AP license is through an institution, you may not automatically have MSE. If you’d like to try it, reply to this email or contact your school’s AP admin.
MSE will be ready to use immediately in Canvas SpeedGrader, Google Docs, Word, and wherever else you teach. You can insert snippets, like any other AP content, or just use the phrases as a reminder and guide when crafting your own feedback.
The Result? Your feedback becomes a dialogue. You aren’t just grading a paper; you’re coaching a learner.

MSE also includes two student engagement Feedback Forms. You’ll need a paid AP license to utilize these as interactive forms but you can can read and use them in other ways.
In the above Feedback Form, MSE is being used with Gmail to prompt a student to provide reflections on their recent essay. The Feedback form allows you to add variety and specificity to your request for reflection quickly.Â
