11trees Announces the School Resources Edition Service
Austin, TX – July 1, 2020 –11trees LLC, an EdTech company helping scale 1-to-1 engagement, today announced the general availability of the School Resources Edition Library, a service to help schools connect students with the wide array of academic, financial, career and wellness resources offered.
“Colleges and universities have a large investment in advising, tutoring, writing centers, library staff and tools, wellness, counseling,” said Andrew McCann, founder of 11trees. “But these resources often suffer from a ‘last mile’ problem: how do you get students to engage to best help themselves?”
The School Resources Edition is built on Annotate PRO (AP), a solution used by thousands of educators around the world to create, share and use reusable comments to speed feedback and engagement. AP works with Canvas SpeedGrader, Google Classroom, Google Docs, Gmail, Schoology, D2L, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook (web), Blackboard – almost anywhere you can type on the web.
“We know educators are busier than ever, ” continued McCann, “so the School Resources Edition is a service – 11trees builds out a knowledge base of all of your resources so that you can publish that content to all faculty and staff.” The next time a faculty member is creating an announcement, writing an email, replying to a discussion or grading a paper and they need a blurb on the university’s writing center? They can pop open AP, search for “writing center” and with one click add a sentence or two description about the Writing Center, including contact info, to their content.
A School Resources Edition Library might have two to three hundred such entries, each easily discoverable so that an office assistant could quickly send a student an email with detailed info on tutoring, an advisor can connect an advisee with the right library resource to get going on their big research project, or an instructor could quickly add all relevant academic policies to their online course.
“As online education grows, educators need simple tools to help them be more effective,” concluded McCann. “No one is more connected to students than the faculty and staff directly interacting with them. If those faculty and staff can get the right information into a student’s hands at the right time the chances of that student engaging go way up.”
11trees builds teacher productivity and student engagement solutions that work with the platforms educators already know and love: Microsoft Word, Google Classroom, Google Docs, Microsoft Teams, Gmail, Schoology, Brightspace/D2L, Canvas LMS, Microsoft Outlook. Our goal is to make feedback easier to create, to be more impactful and to help educators best invest their precious time engaging students. Annotate PRO makes it easy to create, share and use libraries of reusable comments to quickly provide feedback to students. Canopy is the actionable analytics and engagement solution for Canvas LMS.
