Comment banks can be fantastic for creating specific, actionable feedback for students more quickly. But finding the time to put all your expertise into a reusable AP Comment Library can be time consuming.
So we created a Comment in our AI Prompt Edition Library to help you quickly draft content. Use it with your preferred AI solution (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) to quickly create a spreadsheet that you can open in Google Sheets or Excel to edit, then import into your AP account.
Here’s how:
- Make sure you have the free AI Prompt Edition Library selected in the AP Chrome Extension.
- Visit your preferred AI solution in Chrome.
- Click into the chat input.
- Use AP to search for “Create a Comment Library for AP” and click it.
- Fill in the values in the form (see below) and click Insert.
Your completed prompt should appear in the chat input. Submit it and let AI chug away. It should create a CSV (comma separated value) file that you can download and then import into Google Sheets or Excel to edit further. The file will have 5 columns – exactly what you need to import into AP. The last column indicates whether a Comment is a Favorite or not. Change values from zero to 1 to indicate that a Comment should be a Favorite (you can always edit this later).
Make sure you edit/review first! AI can create a comprehensive list but it can hallucinate and make other mistakes. Remember that AP imports now support Markdown language but will not import HTML formatting (bold, bullets).
Save your edited file as a CSV and import into AP. You can add HTML formatting once imported.

Create a Comment Bank with AI
Use this form to create a Comment Library with an AI like ChatGPT or Gemini. Edit/update the details below (in brackets) and and use your web-based AI of choice (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc) to generate a draft Library. You ‘ll get a CSV file in the right format for importing into the AP web app. Edit/refine the CSV (in Google Sheets or Excel) before importing into AP.
As an expert at teaching [academic discipline/subject], create a csv spreadsheet that details feedback frequently provided to students studying the topic.
Assume the students are in {elementary school} {middle school} {high school} {advanced high school} {undergraduate school} {graduate school} and write the feedback to maximize their comprehension.The csv should represent each item of feedback in its own row with the following five columns: group, subgroup, comment label, comment (academic feedback), Favorite. The comment should be written from the point of view of the expert providing detailed, granular feedback to the intended student audience. The Favorite column should have the value of zero for every row.
