The Writers' Toolkit is a powerful toolbar for Microsoft Word. It brings the best resources on the web right inside Word - where you're doing your work. So if you have a question about comma splices, or how to improve your paper's thesis, or how to cite an obscure source, you can click a button and get help right away. The Writers' Toolkit is designed to replace the $70 writing handbook many students are required to purchase (or that schools purchase for students). And the Writing Toolkit is FREE. The Writers' Toolkit also includes important features like spell check, grammar check, word count, and citation/bibliography automation. These tools are built into Word, but few users know about them, and they're scattered across many toolbars. The Writers' Toolkit unifies these features for you. Here's a screenshot of the Writers' Toolkit as it appears in Microsoft Word. An overview of each section to the Writer's Toolkit follows - but you can probably learn just as much by clicking around and getting a sense of all the content contained in the various drop-downs. ![]() Toolkit Basics
