When I click on some Annotate buttons the Comments added are empty. Why?

This is a known issue that has been fixed in all new version of Annotate for Mac Office 2011 starting September 2014.

If you are an existing PRO user of either College Edition or Legal Writing Edition, please Contact Us to receive a free upgrade that will at least highlight the issue for you.

Users Affected:

All users of Annotate (CE and LWE) for Mac Office 2011 (Word 2011). This includes FREE and PRO editions.

Symptoms:

After modifying your Annotate library, then clicking on an Annotate button to insert a Comment, you notice that the Comment bubble is empty.

Cause:

Microsoft Word can only handle 255 characters per cell in the Library tables. This includes spaces.

Solution:

  1. Break up your feedback into Observation and Advice. Check the length of the characters in each by clicking Tools/Word Count in the Word menu.
  2. Contact Us to receive a free upgrade to a version of Annotate that will warn you when there are too many characters in a particular table cell.
