Windows 7 includes many improvements over Windows XP, and certainly Windows Vista. One of these improvements is the inclusion of the '.NET Framework' - code from Microsoft that provides the foundation for programs like Annotate. So if you're using Annotate with Windows 7 you can skip the lengthy download of .NET. But you may have to 'allow' .NET 3.5.1 to run on your computer. If you see the following message during installation of Annotate, you'll need to take the following steps, then rerun the Annotate installation.
![]() Here's how:1. Visit the Windows 7 Control Panel and select the Programs group (by clicking the word 'Programs')
3. Click Turn Windows features on or off in the Programs section
4. Make sure "Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1" is colored in, like so. If it isn't, simply click on the checkbox to the left of "Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1" until it looks like the picture below. You won't get a checkmark - just a colored box.
